Dear Friends,
We are now into November, and the dark nights have only 6 weeks left till the shortest day of the year! Time to get all the ‘homey chores’ done when we have more time inside.
The big news is here…. SONAS Christian Holidays have now uploaded their holidays for 2026 and we are now live with next year’s destinations on our web site!
Please be patient when you send in your Membership fees and Holiday deposits as we are all volunteers responding, while some are still daytime working as well.
On Saturday 8 November we had a great reunion event in Perth reminiscing on the various holidays throughout 2025. Everyone was very happy with the new SONAS Christian Holidays and variety of destinations; however, the Christian fellowship was especially highlighted and appreciated. I commended the Leaders who led the holidays and of course the Board Members and the Planning Group – as everyone is functioning as a willing volunteer. It felt like SONAS was now firmly established, Hallelujah!
At our Reunion Day, we also had a lovely Bible Reading from Barbara Cheetham from 1 Corinthians 12 about us all being like one body with different gifts, and we sang some lovely well-known hymns, thanks to Bob Christie for playing the piano.
After sharing a nice lunch with delicious soups, we heard from Sophie Jones (18 years old) who feels the Lord is calling her into Missionary Aviation Fellowship (MAF) and is studying in Perth. This was followed by Nick Sorrie sharing a short devotional on ‘doing good to all men’ followed by Eddie Watt sharing the story of his call to MAF as a pilot, from being a plumber. It was a fantastic story of God’s leading, goodness and provision in so many ways.
So, we finished our lovely Reunion Day by 2.30pm and all went our separate ways throughout Scotland, back to our homes, feeling a sense of encouragement and joy.
Praise God.
Blessings to you all,
Elsie Normington
