If you would like to have a delightful diversion from the long winter months, why not treat yourself to a relaxing break in the heart of Scotland, enjoy the stunning scenery, appreciate delicious food, and benefit from wonderful company. We are to stay in the idyllic Victorian town of Pitlochry where, despite its small size, there is an abundance of things to do and it’s ideally located for exploring Perthshire.
Should you love walking, there are many options for you from gentle strolls to more challenging hikes with a superb network of clearly marked routes, all starting and finishing in the town. Further afield are walks to the Falls of Bruar in the north, or to the highly recommended Hermitage in Dunkeld to the south, or to the Birks of Aberfeldy in the west.
You might want to take an exciting Land Rover trip, with the award-winning Highland Safaris, that will take you deep into the amazing natural wilderness of Perthshire, or you can visit their Red Deer experience to meet Britain’s largest native mammal face-to-face. Or, for the more adventurous, you might want to go quad biking with Scottish Quads or, if you dare, bungee jump at the Killiecrankie Zip Park!
Pitlochry has a fantastic range of unique craft, clothing and jewellery shops and superb restaurants and coffee shops. If you venture a bit further north you can visit the House of Bruar, an impressive and exclusive shopping complex. Aberfeldy, Crieff, Dunkeld and Perth are also ideal options for exploring.
Or you might prefer to completely unwind, sit in front of a roaring fire with a good book in our hotel, the splendid baronial mansion of the Atholl Palace Hotel. This four-star luxury hotel is spacious with many facilities including relaxing public areas, spa, fitness centre, swimming pool, museum and extensive gardens.
